Nusrat Ghani MP is proudly supporting the Love Your Local Markets Campaign, being run by Wealden District Council between 20th April and 31st May.
The campaign, which aims to raise the profile of local markets and encourage people to enjoy locally produced goods, will see bright decorations, banners and buntings on display throughout Wealden to celebrate the fresh, seasonal produce available in our communities, and the markets where they can be bought.
Farmers’ Markets are held at: Uckfield (first Saturday of the month); Hailsham (second Saturday of the month); Heathfield (third Saturday of the month); Crowborough (fourth Saturday of the month).
The Hailsham Street Market also takes place in Vicarage Field every Saturday.
The campaign also aims to attract new businesses with some markets offering discounted stalls to first-time traders.

Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said:
“Wealden has a proud farming tradition, and with a huge variety of goods produced locally, this is a wonderful, healthy and tasty way to support small local businesses, the backbone of our economy.
“In a time too where we should all be thinking about our carbon footprint, markets provide an excellent way to buy food quite literally only a stone’s throw from where it was produced.
“I’m excited to see the work that Wealden District Council has put into this celebration come to life, and, fingers crossed, to see new local businesses taking up the discounted market stalls for first-time traders: a truly fantastic opportunity!”
