Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, is encouraging Wealden residents to take up invitations for their fourth dose of the Covid vaccine and flu vaccinations to boost immunity and help minimise wide circulations of serious illnesses through the winter months.
The Covid booster is being offered to many vulnerable people, including care home residents, frontline health and social care workers, carers, people aged 5-49 in a clinical risk group, pregnant women, children aged two to three, and anyone over the age of 50. Appointments for the Covid-19 booster can now be booked through the NHS app, or on the NHS booking system. Additionally, people can visit one of the many walk-in centres around the country. Those eligible for the flu jab will have already been contacted by their GP.

Nusrat Ghani said: “I am incredibly grateful to the teams of clinicians and volunteers at practices and pharmacies across Wealden for their continuous efforts to deliver this life-saving protection to local residents. Covid and flu spread more easily in winter and can cause serious illness. We are fortunate to have vaccines against both these harsh winter infections and they continue to be the best form of defence and the best way to stay safe. Appointments continue to be available at various locations across Wealden, so I would like to encourage all Wealden residents eligible for their free winter vaccines to make use of these fantastic local provisions and book an appointment as soon as possible to protect themselves and their loved ones this winter.”
