Nus Ghani, the MP for Wealden and Forest Row, met with Forest Row Energy, a community energy group who provide green energy solutions for the local Forest Row community.
They discussed the community energy industry, including funding, taxation and planning, and how Nus can work with her colleagues in Government to grow and develop community energy co-ops such as Forest Row Energy.
Nus agreed to broker a meeting with the Energy Minister, Claire Perry MP, to put Forest Row Energy’s views across and make Wealden’s voice heard at the top of Government.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “Passing on a clean, vibrant environment to future generations is so fundamental going forward, and community groups like Forest Row Energy do fantastic work in improving the provision of sustainable energy generation in Wealden.
“I was delighted to meet with them and see first-hand some of their excellent schemes, including solar panels on the Forest Row Community Centre.
“Encouraging projects such as Forest Row Energy’s commitment to Emmerson College is vital, and I will continue to work with them and others to ensure we support community energy in the future.”
