Pubs are the heart of our Wealden communities. I am dedicated to ensuring that the 78 pubs and 8 breweries which are based in Wealden will continue to thrive. Pubs and breweries contribute a huge amount locally, both to the economy and to the social life of the community.
Wealden is home to the towns of Uckfield, Hailsham, Crowborough and the surrounding villages of Forest Row, Mayfield, Wadhurst, Rotherfield, all of which are home to community run high streets, the beating hearts of our towns and villages.
Wealden is a beautiful place, with rolling countryside, stunning forests and energetic towns. Wealden is also home to many amazing farms, which are the lifeblood of rural life. I want to build a Rural Powerhouse, one known for its thriving small businesses, including its farms and vineyards, as for the beauty of its countryside.
Looking after our environment is one of the most important issues of this generation. The Wealden countryside is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, and I want to make sure that we pass on a healthy and clean environment to our children.

This Government has already put together a package to help small businesses – Keeping corporation tax down, reducing National Insurance contribution to access to start up loans. Britain’s economy is growing faster than any other economy in Europe, with 760,000 more businesses created since 2010 and 2 million new apprenticeships.
Access to the internet is no longer a luxury – it is a vital necessity which we need every day at home, school and work. And it is also no longer good enough that people have to put up with slow speeds, unreliable connectivity and poor customer service from their broadband providers.
The security of the United Kingdom and the British people depends on many things, not least our economic security, but ultimately we depend on the British Armed Forces to keep us safe at home and abroad.
I consider it my first duty to do whatever I have to do to keep the people of Wealden safe. One of the best ways in which I can do that is to support and stand up for our Armed Forces in Parliament.
