If you think that you are in the high-risk category and haven't received a letter form the Government yet, please contact your GP and ask them to include you in the national database.

Wealden Council has published a form to be completed by small businesses applying for a Government grant designed to help those hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.There is also a Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant.More information can be found in this document on the Government website: Small Business Grant Fund and Retail Guidance.

 

General Services and Support

Wealden Citizens Advice are continuing to provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice on issues affecting people’s lives, especially during this time of national crisis. Contact them on their Adviceline 0300 330 9022.

Crowborough Food Bank would like food or money donations (additional 25% via gift aid) as this will allow the team to replenish the essentials and help vulnerable people at this difficult time. See more details on their website.

Uckfield Foodbank remains open and is making home deliveries to those in need of food in local area. The Foodbank asks that if you need a voucher from your agency then please give them as much notice as possible. If you need delivery on a Tuesday then the voucher needs to be with the Foodbank by noon. The same applies for Friday delivery.

The Hartfield Parish Council and Church have set up a Community Action Group in response to Covid - 19 and have agreed a local set of co-ordinators to help people in need access local groups of volunteers and for those volunteers to spread the load amongst a local group. If you wish to volunteer or wish to be put in touch with someone to get help we need your name tel no and email please email all this info to the Parish Office

MAYFACS - Mayfield and Five Ashes Community Services is providing support to people who are self-isolating with shopping, prescriptions and more. Call 01435 873888 or go to https://www.mayfacs.org.uk/ for more information. They are also raising money through their Just Giving page

Vital Locksmiths offer free lock-out services in Eastbourne and Hailsham for NHS staff in need (ID required). They are available at: 01323 335022.

Hailsham Cars is still running a full taxi service. For more information and bookings, please call 01323 844464.

Smythe & Barrie electronics shop in Hailsham is taking orders online, over the phone, and through Facebook, aiming to delivery safely. Please call 01323 840550 or e-mail sales@smytheandbarrie.co.uk .

CTLA Uckfield have a dedicated line for people considered at risk or people concerned about someone they know to be at risk from Coronavirus. They can offer advice and help with shopping. Call them on 01273 517332 .

Rose Gas Buxted is now closed, however they will continue providing deliveries. Call them on 01825 732655

Pennies Marks Cross Nursery remain open. They have limited spaces for keyworker children. If you are a key worker and require childcare, please contact the nursery on 01892852187 or e-mail rebekah.waterhouse@pennies.co.uk

The Customer Service Point in Royal Mail Uckfield Delivery Office will be open between 07:00-09:00 am daily, except Wednesday and Sunday when the office will be closed.To support the Government’s advice to stay at home and avoid non-essential journeys, Royal Mail urge customers to only visit Customer Service Points where absolutely necessary.

Paynes Heating and Plumbing is still open for emergency work which includes no heating or hot water, water leaks, and gas safety certificates. Non-urgent work has been temporarily suspended. They can also be reached on sales@paynes-heating.co.uk .

telephone befriending scheme launched by Manor Park and Hempstead Fields Residents’ Association has been extended to cover the whole of Uckfield. The number to call is 01825 578017. If the association is unable to take your call, then please leave a message a volunteer will get back to you.
