Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, spoke to Times Radio’s Matt Chorley to discuss the Conservative Party leadership contest.
Following her re-election as Vice-Chair of the 1922 Committee, she talked about the organisation of the different voting rounds and about how the wider contest would take place. She said that the Committee was hoping to get the number of candidates down to 2 by the end of next week.
The intention is that the new Leader will be in place by 5th September, when Members of Parliament return from the summer recess.
