Wealden MP Nus Ghani joined the Crowborough Community First Responders for their second annual black tie dinner and dance to fundraise to support the volunteers and the running of the first responders.
The Crowborough Community First Responders are all specially trained volunteers who give up their time assisting the local ambulance service. They deal with a wide range of incident, supplementing the ambulance service.
The annual fundraising dinner, held at Barnsgate Manor, was a chance for Nus to catch up with everyone involved in the First Responders scheme. The evening raised more than £11,000 – a record amount.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “The Crowborough Community First Responders are a fantastic community asset and I was delighted to join them to help fundraise and support the wonderful volunteers who give up their free time.
“To have raised more than £11,000 is an amazing achievement and is testament to the valuable service the First Responders provide. I’d like to thank everyone who attended, and of course to all the volunteers who give up their time for the First Responders – they are true local heroes.
“The money raised will support the First Responders in their vital work assisting our local ambulance services, and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.”
