Nusrat Ghani speaks to Times Radio about her work getting Afghan women out of the country

Wednesday, 1 September, 2021

Nusrat Ghani, MP for Wealden, spoke to Times Radio Breakfast programme with Aasmah Mir and Stig Abell to discuss the horrific situation facing Afghan women and girls under the Taliban. She talked about the brave, dignified women that have been helping to rebuild the country and are now fearing for their life. The Taliban’s ideology has not changed and their idea of a state has no room for women and girls. Afghan women are already being withdrawn from public life and education and Nusrat explained that she had been working with a female Afghan MP, trying to evacuate her and her family from Kabul. Nusrat urged the international community and to work together and for the British Government to continue to do all it can to get these women out of the country.
