Nusrat Ghani, MP for Sussex Weald, has joined communities across Sussex Weald as they come together to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. A series of events will took place across the constituency to mark this momentous occasion in our country's history.
Nusrat was pleased to attend celebrations in Hailsham, Heathfield, Rotherfield, Mayfield and Withyham as they lit beacons and hosted a programme of events to bring the commemorations to life.
Nusrat Ghani said: “I was delighted to join Hailsham, Heathfield, Mayfield, Rotherfield and Withyham residents over the VE Day 80 weekend to celebrate this this significant milestone in our history. I am always honoured to speak to our local veterans and many residents who were there remembering their loved ones who fought in the war. It was wonderful to see our communities come together and I'd like to thank everyone who was involved in organising all these fantastic events for local residents."
