Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, appeared on Sophy Ridge's Sky News show this morning to discuss the sanctions placed on her and other UK citizens by the Chinese state. During the interview, Nus stated she was keen to keep shining a light on the atrocities facing the Uyghur in the north-western province of Xinjiang, in China.
Towards the end of her appearance, Sophy asked Nus for her opinion on the easing of lockdown rules and why she had abstained on a recent Covid vote. Nus explained that while the Government was doing a fantastic job, she did not see the need for them to extend their lockdown powers further. She praised the successful vaccination rollout, noting over one million people have now been jabbed in Sussex.
