Wealden MP Nus Ghani is joining the celebrations of Armed Forces Day, taking place across the country this Saturday, 30th June.
Armed Forces Day is an annual celebration of the British Armed Forces, thanking them for their commitment and sacrifices for their country. The celebrations formally began this week on Monday 25th when the Armed Forces Day flag was raised over buildings across the country, including Parliament.
There are events to mark the day taking place all over the UK on Saturday, including in Wealden in Uckfield and Crowborough.
Nus is the President of local cadet group the Crowborough Cadets. She sat on the Armed Forces Bill Select Committee in Parliament, and was also a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, gaining first-hand experience of the Armed Forces and their families to improve advocacy & quality of debate of defence issues in Parliament.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “Our Armed Forces are the truly the finest in the world, and I’m delighted to join in the celebrations thanking our service personnel for their service.
“I know that the commemorations in Wealden will honour those who have served and are currently serving, and as President of the Crowborough Cadets I am immensely proud of our young cadets considering careers in the RAF along with local Armed Forces personnel and their families
