Nus Ghani welcomes the promotion, by Wealden District Council, of the Street Learning courses designed to equip residents in Wealden and Eastbourne with new and exciting skills.
The courses are aimed at adults aged 19 and above who need not hold any formal qualifications, just an open mind and a thirst to learn new things. They shall take place in community centres in Hailsham, Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield and Eastbourne.
Those interested may dabble in cooking, website creation, heightening their personal assertiveness, drawing and even in converting rubbish into decorative objects.
The courses run between January and March and could be used as an opportunity to boost one’s CV or making new friends.
Nus Ghani, a keen cook herself, who has previously been seen in the kitchen of Rajdoot Curry House, commented:
‘I am glad to see that Wealden District Council are promoting such a fun scheme, which could greatly improve social cohesion and participation all across the constituency.’
‘If you haven’t come up with resolutions for the new year, why not make some for the next three months – acquiring new skills with Street Learning. Spruce up your CV and get to know your neighbours whilst doing something fun!’
More information on the courses and how to sign up is available at http://wealden.gov.uk/Wealden/Residents/Community_and_Safety/CAR_Street_Learning.aspx .
