Wealden MP Nus Ghani recently met with Sussex Police Chief Inspector Anita Turner to discuss policing, crime and sexual exploitation across Wealden and the concerns of Nus’ constituents.
Joining Anita and Nus was Wealden District Council Leader Cllr Bob Standley. Issues discussed include enforcement of parking, provision of visible police officers and concerns about online crime.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “Crime is understandably one of the biggest issues for my constituents in Wealden, so it was important that I could meet with Anita to discuss Sussex Police’s work and how I can support them as the MP for Wealden.
“I was reassured that levels of crime across Wealden is low, but I was glad to hear that Sussex Police remain committed to ensuring they have a visible police presence across the towns of Crowborough, Hailsham and Uckfield as well as the surrounding villages.
“I recently ran a survey of constituents’ concerns with online crime and scams, the results of which I will be feeding to Sussex Police.
“I would also encourage everyone to report any crime they see, no matter how small, as only with accurate reporting can policing for Wealden be resourced appropriately.”
