On 24th August, local Wealden MP, Nus Ghani, attended the award ceremony at the Crowborough Beacon Golf Club. The award was given by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field.

Speaking of the event Nus Ghani said: 'I am delighted to attend this event and am so pleased that Her Majesty has recognised the fantastic work done by the volunteers. They have supported so many local people and saved many lives as a result. I am proud to support them and pleased to be offering myself up for auction at their forthcoming fundraising dinner.'

The ceremony was well attended by local notables and senior representatives of South East Coast Ambulance Service who support the First Responders.
