Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, visited the newly refurbished Rajdoot Curry House in Hailsham with the Deputy Mayor of Hailsham Amanda O’Rawe.
The visit was to celebrate Rajdoot’s new refurbishment, the launch of their exciting new summer menu, as well as the extensive fund-raising that the curry house has participated in for local hospice, St Wilfrid’s: raising over £1700 from staff and patrons in recent months.
Nus was also invited into the kitchen by the staff, and tried her hand at helping cook part of their meal. There, she swapped recipes and tips with the chefs, before heading back out to the restaurant to enjoy her meal.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said:
“I was so impressed by what was on the menu at Rajdoot that I just had to get involved with the cooking!
“Abdul Kashem and his team contribute so much to Hailsham. Not only do they make absolutely delicious food, but their charity work is inspiring, and demonstrates the strong sense of community felt by everyone in Wealden.
“They really are Hailsham’s top curry house!
“Everyone says that Parliament is a high-pressure environment to work in, but after a few minutes in a professional kitchen with top chefs, I won’t be complaining!
“Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and offering Hailsham great food!”
