Wealden MP Nus Ghani has welcomed the introduction of a new railcard for 16 and 17 year olds.
The new “16 & 17 Railcard” will give young people 50 per cent off train tickets, halving rail fares for 1.2 million young people.
This month Nus has also welcomed the introduction of a railcard for 26 to 30 year olds, granting 3 million more people a third off rail travel. The Government has also frozen rail fares in line with inflation for the sixth year in a row.
Nus Ghani, MP for Wealden, said: “A new railcard is great news for young people across Wealden, halving the price of train tickets. This is part of our review into Britain’s railways, focused on improving services and providing better value for money for passengers, which I’m sure will be welcomed by my constituents throughout Wealden.”
